Donna Wallace
My journey in this field began early, influenced by my experiences as a Girl Guide, where I first learned the values of empathy and community service.
During high school, I actively served on the welfare committee, advocating for the needs of my peers and gaining valuable skills in communication, organization, and empathy.
My caregiving journey started with my grandparents, who bravely managed Bipolar disorder and Parkinson’s disease. This experience taught me patience, resilience, and the holistic approach needed in caregiving, shaping my commitment to comprehensive and compassionate care.
In addition to personal caregiving, I have volunteered with organizations such as Neighbourhood Watch, St. Vincent de Paul, and Autism NT, where I have contributed to enhancing community safety and supporting individuals with diverse needs.
I’m currently studying and volunteering in my community, I am actively expanding my knowledge and skills to better serve individuals facing various challenges.
Outside of my professional pursuits, I find solace in hobbies like crocheting and exploring nature, which inspire me and reinforce my belief in a balanced and fulfilling lifestyle.
As a parent of a child with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder), I intimately understand the joys and complexities of supporting individuals with unique needs. This personal journey fuels my passion for promoting respect, dignity, and empowerment for all individuals.
